FAQ

What's a macro tracker with no ads?

Ledger is a macro and calorie tracker with no ads. Not fewer ads: none. You log your food, macros, water and weight in one simple diary, and the core manual logging is free on the web. Your data is never sold.

Is Ledger free?

Yes. Manual food logging, food search, and barcode scanning are free on the web. The free plan includes 3 AI logs a week. You create an account with Google, X or email. There's also an optional paid plan, VIP, which includes more AI logs.

Is Ledger's AI food logging free?

The free plan includes 3 AI logs a week. VIP includes more. Manual logging, food search, and barcode scanning stay free. Ledger works fine without the AI.

Where does Ledger get its nutrition data?

Generic foods come from USDA FoodData Central (FNDDS and Foundation Foods). Grocery brands come from Open Food Facts, which is a community database, and Ledger says so in the app. Every entry has a source label, so you can see whether a number is USDA data, a community listing, or an estimate.

How accurate are Ledger's AI calorie estimates?

They're estimates, and Ledger labels them that way. Treat an AI estimate as a starting point: check it, fix anything that's off, and only keep it if it looks right. An estimate only goes into your diary if you keep it, and Ledger doesn't claim photo or voice estimates are exact.

Can I import my food log from another app?

Yes. You can import food logs, weights and custom foods from another app's export file or from a CSV. You see a preview before anything is added, duplicates are skipped, and nothing already in Ledger is replaced or deleted. The import screen has export steps for many popular apps.

Does Ledger work on Android?

Ledger works in the browser on Android today. A Ledger app for Android is coming soon to Google Play.

Does Ledger work on iPhone?

Yes. Ledger runs in Safari or any other browser on iPhone, and you can add it to your home screen. There's no App Store app right now. It's the same account and diary everywhere you sign in.

Does Ledger have weekly billing? How do I cancel?

No weekly billing. The free plan has no billing at all, and VIP is billed monthly or yearly. VIP starts with a 7-day free trial; a card is collected up front, and you won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel anytime.

What can I track in Ledger?

Food, calories, protein, carbs and fat, plus water and weight. You can also log body measurements and exercise. You set your own calorie and macro targets. Barcode scanning is free.

What's the fastest way to log meals I eat all the time?

Use Log my usual to re-add a meal you eat often, Copy day to repeat a whole day, or Quick add to type in numbers directly. Foods you look up often stay on your device, so repeat searches work offline.

What does "Fix my day" do in Ledger?

When you still have calories and protein left for the day, Fix my day suggests combinations of foods you've already logged that fit what's left without going over. It uses the numbers from your own log. You can also set an optional reminder.

Can I share my food log with a coach?

Yes. You can invite a coach or accountability partner with a link. They need their own free account, and there's no charge for it. They see only what you leave on, and you can remove them anytime.

Can I export or delete my Ledger data?

Yes. You can download your data as a CSV or a backup file, and you can delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your diary and profile. Ledger shows no ads, and your data is never sold.

Is Ledger medical or nutrition advice?

No. Ledger is a personal food and macro log, not medical advice. For calorie or nutrition targets, talk to a registered dietitian or your doctor. Ledger is there to help you log what you eat.

Who is Tally?

Tally is Ledger's mascot, a cartoon possum. He used to guess his calories, and now he reads every label. He's openly a cartoon, not a person, a coach or a dietitian.
